Machine’s fabulously funky fables & fantasies

Note: The only explanation for the cheery tone of the post below is that it was prepared– as was the featured machine print anthology – much before the current local developments necessitated the rather abrupt-but-crucial Anniversary Announcement. Readers are requested, therefore, to read the aforementioned announcement first. Thanks.

From the machine: classic mythology and fantasy…
Well, here it is – the brand new machine print eAnthology of classic fantasy: Machine’s fabulously funky fables & fantasies. This new eBook brings together a handful of tales from classic mythologies and early 20th Century fantasy and, in the tradition established by its predecessors, is totally free as well. You, the good reader, can see it above – pictured, for purposes of promotion, as a paperback.

So how can you get it? Well, hang on a minute…

Machine’s fabulously funky fables & fantasies
Mythology and fantasy are vast – and deep – subjects and the amount of material that was available to arg/machine was daunting, to say the least. He duly apologizes for the omissions and hastens to inform readers that a separate volume devoted solely to mythology is on the list of machine print’s future projects.

Now, let’s get to know this new eAnthology a little better. In it, you’ll encounter heroes from all over the world: from Greece to Persia; from Europe to the Far East. Also to be found are more modern tales of wonder, magic and further heroism from some of the most celebrated authors of early 20th Century fantasy. Pretty neat, eh?

As usual, hot contemporary authors and authoresses of the genre had to be left out, but onlybecause their works are not in the public domain.

Download links and extra stuff…
It’s time we got to the eBook, no? Well, machine’s fabulously funky fables & fantasies [in mobi and epub formats; 0.7 MB] is available for download here, with an alternate download link located right here. And you may want to try out those red-&-blue 3D glasses on this eBook cover too…

Update: The book has been added to goodreads.com and can be found here.

Next up…
Well, it’s going to be an exciting time here @ machine print: apart from the mythology-only anthology alluded to earlier, there are plans for several other collections, including a modest little surprise for the fans of Philip K. Dick. You see, arg/machine would like to introduce a bit of variation in the “look” of the machine print books and this “modest little surprise” will allow him to do just that – break away, albeit momentarily, from these similar-in-design machine print anthologies. But all those projects are still in their very preliminary planning stages.

Coming next, however, is a collection of some of the “left-out tales” which, though shortlisted for the machine print anthologies published so far, weren’t included in the final versions. “More tales of the macabre, crime, science fiction and fantasy! And in one volume, too!” – that’s the basic concept behind it.

As always, information about this new eBook – along with stuff related to all things machine – will be relayed via arg/machine’s twitter page, so interested individuals may wish to keep an eye on arg/machine’s tweets.
