Actually, once work on the previous anthology ended, arg/machine began thinking about ways to follow it up with a suitable set of tales and, given his affection for the mystery genre, it was only natural that the second offering from machine print would be an anthology of classic mystery and/or detective tales with a focus, of course, on murder. And mayhem.

And mayhem.
As with the previous anthology, arg/machine did all the work – and this means work of both “types”: fun and boring – himself, taking the occasional break only to thank the heavens for not having to scan the content from his old-school hardcopies, an additional process that would havedrastically increased production time. So, to give credit where it’s due, arg/machine would like to thank all those kind and industrious book lovers who have taken time off to scan, proof and upload these classic texts and make them available online.

Although arg/machine would have loved to include tales from the fine contemporary authors and authoresses of the crime/mystery genre, he simply couldn’t – the reason being their work is not in the public domain.

However, and as mentioned already, the public-domain stories included in Machine’s mad milieu of murder & mayhem are all considered classics, and are by writers who are stillregarded as stalwarts of the genre. And even the lesser-known of them, as you – the good reader – will hopefully agree, still pack a punch.
The new eBook, like the one preceding it, is being offered in both mobi and epub formats. While the mobi version has been tested satisfactorily, arg/machine has been unable to assess the epub edition. There shouldn’t be any major problems with it, but if there are, then it’s because of arg/machine’s current inability to test the epub format.
